Construction of apartments in the old wool factory, which has driven the development of the town of Żary for nearly 200 years. The historic form of the old factory will be transformed into 70 modern apartments, stores and services.

Vibration monitoring

The project

Monitoring and vibration assessment of a 56 m high brick chimney at a former wool factory site.

The challenge

Measurement and evaluation of harmful dynamic effects on a chimney during ongoing construction activities.

The solution

Two Sigicom C22 wireless sensors were used to measure vibrations. The sensors allowed for many months of stable work on battery power. The recorded data were made available in real time on the INFRANET platform, which allows sending automatic e-mails and SMS notifications when vibration limits are exceeded. The inspection included a comparison of the recorded vibration levels with the permissible values defined in DIN 4150-3.
